Habitat NYC
As a continued effort to engage with the local community around our church, the English Ministry is proudly partnering with Habitat NYC in their Queens Coalition initiative as a Faith Partner. We are joining other faith and community groups in Queens to combine our efforts, skills, networks and muscle to help raise funds to build homes for hard-working, low-income families.
Right now, more than one-third of New York City residents pay more than half of their income for housing. With costs, so high, it seems impossible to make ends meet, let alone get ahead. For low-income families, the challenge is real and dramatic and families are forced to make decisions like living in overcrowded, unsafe, and even unsanitary conditions.
Fortunately, Habitat for Humanity New York City has a proven model that helps families escape the cycle of substandard housing and move up into new lives with tremendous hope for their children. Habitat NYC works alongside hardworking families, offering a hand up not a handout, to build quality, safe, and affordable homes.
